Project Växthus
Project ”Växthus” aims to increase young adults’ knowledge and capacity to improve their mental health, and increase their feeling of belonging. The project will identify factors that promote health and develop concrete ways to deal with factors that affect health negatively. In a process of co-creation, the goal is to increase empowerment and prevent loneliness among young adults.
The mental distress and feeling of loneliness have been increasing among young adults. A new stage in life often means change: studies, work or moving away from home. This makes young adults particularly vulnerable in a changing world.
The three year-project is financed by STEA (Founding Centre For Social Welfare and Health Organisations). Within the project, new group activities and volunteering in groups will be developed. A campaign to show the difference between mental illness and normal negative feelings will be carried out.
The activities within the project are mainly in Swedish, since the target group is Swedish speaking young adults (17-25).
